ptop & shtop — btop-style system monitors for Windows and Linux

So lately I’ve been enjoying btop on linux, but then I work from my Windows computer sometimes and don’t have the same tooling. There is a btop for windows but it requires admin to read GPU and such.
I was testing out Gemini Argon in antigravity, asking it for the best btop alternative and it never really found one I wanted. So I said ‘well actually… you know what I want, just make me something?‘.
It one-shot prompted ptop, as in powershellTop. a couple bug fixes later and it was ready for primetime, if primetime means just used by me and public on github but no one will ever use it.
Then I decided I loved the look of it so much I uninstalled btop on my linux machines and then tasked Claude with porting ptop to shtop (powershellTop, shellTop).
We’re in the age of just having your own custom apps made for you and it’s nutso.

You can too if you want! There are themes too, Argon just did that itself-what-the-heck!
The little ‘install’ files just add the command to your alias and point to the git repo.
